May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health issues. It is crucial to understand that mental illnesses are prevalent in the United States, affecting a significant portion of the population. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than fifty percent of individuals will experience a mental health diagnosis at some point in their lives.

It is essential to recognize that mental health is dynamic and can be influenced by various factors such as stress, trauma, genetics, and lifestyle choices. Regularly checking in with yourself and loved ones can help in maintaining emotional wellbeing and seeking help when needed.
